Joy’s
remarkable vocal talents have been sailing the shores of the
music industry for a number of years.
Moving to London from Birmingham at the age of 16 Joy’s talent was
immediately
spotted by record producer Rod Gammon who recorded her first single
“Gimme the Funk” for Savage Records. In 1990 Joy became the lead singer
for the group ‘Mocca
Soul’ and was the
featured singer on the album “Persistence
of Memory”. In 1991 she
signed her first major recording deal with ‘Talkin Loud’
Records with
the group ‘Perception’.
‘Feed the Feeling’
was the first single
released it was a huge club anthem which Joy co-wrote along with the
other members of the group. ‘Talkin Loud’ also released ‘Guilty’, ‘Take
U Higher’ and ‘Serious Love’. Joy then went on to recording 2 albums
with renown jazz pianist Jason Rebello,
‘Make It Real’,
and ‘Last Dance’.
In
2000 Joy
collaborated with ‘A New Funky Generation’ to write ‘One More
Try’ which features on the 'Café
Del Mar’ Volume 7 platinum selling
album.
Joy has also been a featured vocalist with the band ‘Incognito’
over a
number of years and her vocal talents and writing skills can be heard
on ‘Incognito’ albums including the 2010Transtlantic RPM’.
Joy has worked with many celebrated artistt: Sting, Chaka
Khan, Mary J
Blige, Angie Stone, Lynden David Hall, Rahsaan Patterson
and Craig David, to name but a few.
Joy is also featured in Sting's ‘The Songs of Sacred Love’
DVD’, provided backing vocals on the album and completed the ‘Sacred
Love’
2004/5 world tour. “When Joy Rose joined Sting for a duet
she sang with
such power and conviction that one could wonder why she did not sing on
Sting’s album instead of Mary J bilge. She knocked the audience dead
and got a standing ovation”. The Current

surrounding himself with ‘A’ List musicians, she is simply

In 2006 Joy released a Gospel EP ‘Grace’ produced by Kipper the
co-producer of Stings ‘Sacred Love'. In the Summer of
2010
she released
her first solo production ‘Summer
Is Here’ which reached no. 4 in the UK soul chart.
Joy has since gone on to write and produce her solo
album ‘The Rose In Me’, which is now available on itunes, and good
record stores.
